"Blazing a Trail for Others to Follow..."

...and "We ARE Prepared!" are words that we live by.

It's an attitude... a mindset and our creed.

Updates and reminders for this week

Posted on Apr 21 2019 - 12:12am
  • No troop meeting this week due to Spring Break (the website calendar previously showed a meeting and has been corrected).
  •  The second summer camp payment of $150 is due April 30.  Please be sure this is on time since the troop must make a payment to Camp Woodruff the very next day.  You may also use money in your Scout Account.  Contact Mr. Armitage if you need an update on what you have available.
  • You can still sign up for camp!  Just add your name, bring your payments up to date, and contact Mr. Smith about getting your activity sessions registered.
  • Remember to log your hours that you spent delivering mulch using this link before April 30.  This will be used to calculate a proportion of our earnings to be credited to your Scout account, which can be used to pay your trip fees.  Please submit separate entries for each period of time you worked, for example if you worked both days or if you had to leave then come back.

Summer Camp sign up time!

Posted on Mar 23 2019 - 11:30pm

Camp Woodruff, here we come for Summer Camp 2019!

Registration for camp is now open on the troop website.  Sign up here and make your initial payment here or bring in a check for $150 this Tuesday.

After signing up, go to the Summer Camp 2019 page, review the information there, review the Program Guide and Merit Badge Schedule files at the bottom of the page.  Letting Mr. Smith know your merit badge selections by April 1 gets you the best chance of getting the sessions you want.

Your camp fee includes your choice of one of these offsite activities!

  • Horseback riding

Besides merit badges, this fantastic camp in the mountains of northern Georgia offers these additional individual and patrol opportunities

  • Climbing, rappelling, bouldering
  • Zipline and C.O.P.E.
  • Padddleboarding, motor boating, "The Blob," Aquaclimb Wall
  • Disc golf
  • Patrol hike
  • Mountain boarding, mountain biking
  • Mountaineer first-year Scout program
  • Chaplain's Aide training
  • Life to Eagle seminar

A Scout is Helpful

A giant "thank you" to the Scouts and parents who spread many, many yards of wood chips today at Morehead Church!  This is a great example of Scout Spirit by cheerfully giving back to our sponsor organization.  Mr. Whicker at the church was very, very pleased with the results of your work today!
